The Sabbath school is often referred to as the ‘heartbeat’ of the church. It provides the opportunity for church members to fellowship with one another through vibrant bible studies and discussions which are held in small groups called Sabbath school classes. These classes are tailored to meet the needs of the various age groups:
- Beginners (Age: 0-3)
- Kindergarten (Age: 4-7)
- Primary/Junior (Age: 8-12)
Youth (Age: 13-17)
The bible studies and discussions enable group members to respond to their individual spiritual needs and also allow time for new believers or non baptised members to prepare and make decisions for baptism and church membership.
Another key function of the department is to provide a mission emphasis that reaches out into the wider world. During the Sabbath school study period, we provide regular reports of mission projects around the world. This enables the congregation to connect with the wonderful global mission work and also allows individuals church members to focus on how they can make a positive contribution to the lives of others.
